Pathologists win Gold medal at Chelsea Flower Show
The Royal College of Pathologists and the Health Protection Agency have won a highly prestigious Gold Medal at this year's Chelsea Flower Show. The joint exhibition explores the possibility that climate change may increase the risk of malaria returning to the UK.

Report calls for better evaluation of new diagnostic tests to benefit patients
Laboratory tests are used routinely to diagnose patients and to predict the risk that someone who is currently well will develop a disease in the future. New tests are appearing rapidly, largely because of the Human Genome Project. But for most tests there is no independent evaluation mechanism to ensure that a test actually benefits the patient.

Misreporting of diagnostic tests at Histopathology Department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital
A small number of mistakes have been identified within a limited number of diagnostic test reports issued by the Histopathology Department at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital. These relate to tissue samples reported on by one particular pathologist during the period April 2006 to September 2007.

Visual Identity Project
We want to appeal to a more diverse, younger range of audiences and therefore need to review our current visual identity to ensure we make this happen. The College’s strategic priorities of furthering public education in the field of pathology with the opening of the Education Centre and launch of National Pathology Week next year also mean that we need to get started on this project as soon as possible.
